Unity in the Gospel Advance

This text presses home the importance of unity in the church.

With pressure put on the followers of Jesus from without, it is important that we are united within. If there are cracks or rifts in the church then pressure could destroy the church and its witness. This text is a call for us to agree in the Lord. It lays out five important truths that keep us united and moving forward as we keep our eyes fixed on our Lord Jesus Christ.

So let us remember humility, taking responsibility, helping others, our common mission, and our common destiny in our efforts to maintain the unity among us created by God and his Spirit.

Tim Stephens is the senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church. Tim grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario and has graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University, a Masters of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at the Master’s Seminary. He is happily married to Raquel and they have eight children.
