There is confusion and division surrounding "Theonomy." This seminar seeks to answer some commonly asked questions and reflect upon this conversation in the church.
This seminar raises and answers the following questions:
1) What is theonomy or general equity theonomy?
2) What about concerns of separation of church and state; salvation by works; state religion and forced conversion; confusion of law and gospel; and a misunderstanding of the discontinuity between old and new covenants?
3) Grappling with modern assumptions that the OT law is harsh; the law's (only) purpose is to lead us to Christ; the law is no longer binding; and the OT law was for Israel alone.
4) Why is the law good?
5) What are the traditional three uses of the law?
6) Why must we see this as a matter of Christ's lordship and the sufficiency of Scripture?
