The Vision of the Four Beasts

In modern times this passage is typically a passage about the anti-christ at the end of the age. But in reality, this passage is about the Ancient of Days and the Son of Man, the Lord Jesus Christ. This passage is about the kingdom of God, inaugurated in the first century by our Lord.

What we see is a unity in Daniel 7, 8, 9, and 10 referring to the events that transpired just before the coming of Christ. Great persecution was experienced by the Jews at the hand of Antiochus Epiphanes. But, like the other kings before him, God will judge and bring his King, the Messiah, to establish the never-ending kingdom of God.

Tim Stephens is the senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church. Tim grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario and has graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University, a Masters of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at the Master’s Seminary.
