The God Who Upholds (part 2)

Just how in control is God? How does he govern this universe? Does he allow secondary causes (laws of nature) run their course or is he more involved?

What we see is that God unholds, governs, and sustains every single particle in his universe for his own glory. Not only does he govern every particle, he directs and upholds every single individual. This is our God!



The Doctrine of God

The Doctrine of God series is not your typical look through the attributes of God. Certainly that is a worthy and lofty goal. In this series, however, we look at God in action. How God works and what he does. We look at the God who creates, the God who decrees, upholds, and works miracles. Certainly when we see God in action we marvel at his majesty, wisdom and power. When we see God for who he is we are humbled, we are laid bare, and we worship him as he alone is worthy of all worship and praise.

Tim Stephens is the senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church. Tim grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario and has graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University, a Masters of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at the Master’s Seminary. He is happily married to Raquel and they have eight children.
