Our Passover Lamb

The plan of redemption. God’s story that is unfolded in the pages of Scripture is explained for us here.
The religious leaders seek Jesus’ death, the unnamed woman prepares Jesus’ body for burial, Judas looks for an opportunity to betray his master. Jesus affirms that all this is part of God’s plan. And those who are plotting evil deeds are not thus relieved from their responsibility and accountability before God.
He then gives us a picture, a memorial, to remember the story that has come before and the story that is yet before us. At the center is Jesus’ self-sacrifice. The ultimate act of love. Giving his body, giving his life, to save many.

Mark

The gospel of Mark tells us of the person and work of Jesus Christ. Under the inspiration of the Spirit, Mark presents Jesus as the Son of God and the suffering Servant sent to save his people. Mark stresses the authority of Jesus, his great sacrifice, and what it means to be his disciple. This book was given to make and encourage disciples of Jesus, and this sermon series seeks to do the same by proclaiming Mark's message for today's generation.

Tim Stephens

Tim Stephens is the senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church. Tim grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario and has graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University, a Masters of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at the Master’s Seminary. He is happily married to Raquel and they have eight children.
