The first part of this series dealt with identifying the root cause of anger--our desires that have become ruling desires or demands. This sermon tackles the issue of who we biblical deal with those ruling desires. We see in James 4 that repentance is called for, but what does that look like? And how do we do it? These important questions and more are dealt with.



Overcoming Anger

Anger has commonly been divided up between those who get angry and those who don’t. But the truth is, everyone gets angry — it’s just expressed in different ways. Some people tend toward red-faced eruptions; others burn on the inside, working to keep external composure. Anger is a destructive force and it’s often directed at people we love the most. Are you tired of your own anger or want to help someone else? Have you tried things in the past that just don’t provide lasting change? God offers us real hope. Over the course of three weeks Pastor Tim Stephens will be speaking on this important topic.

Tim Stephens

Tim Stephens is the senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church. Tim grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario and has graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University, a Masters of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at the Master’s Seminary. He is happily married to Raquel and they have eight children.
