Opposition to the Church

Pastor Alex Russell continues his sermon series through the book of Acts. In today's sermon, he shares with us the biblical and historical accounts of standing firm of what it means to serve Jesus Christ. Sometimes the cost to serving Jesus Christ maybe great. It may even come at the expense of our lives. However, we are not to fear because Christ is worth it and through His death, burial, and resurrection by atoning for sins of His people we can walk forward faithfully in the face of trials of any kind.

Alex Russell

Alex Russell is the associate pastor at Fairview Baptist church. Raised in Drumheller for most of his life, Alex moved to Calgary as an adult with his wife Erika, where they both came to know Christ. They joined the body at Fairview in 2018. There, Alex began to train in ministry alongside Pastor Tim and pursue seminary studies at Reformed Baptist Seminary. He became an associate pastor in the winter of 2021. He and his wife Erika are blessed with three children.
