Ears to Hear, Eyes to See

Jesus continues to demonstrate that he is the Christ, the Son of God by doing the very things that were spoken of the promised Christ long ago. Peter confesses that Jesus is the Christ, but his ability to see Jesus for who he truly is is still blurred. What Peter is missing is that the Christ must suffer and die as a sacrifice for the sins of his people (Isaiah 53). The question for us is, how do we see Jesus? Can our actions demonstrate to us how clearly we see Jesus?

Mark

The gospel of Mark tells us of the person and work of Jesus Christ. Under the inspiration of the Spirit, Mark presents Jesus as the Son of God and the suffering Servant sent to save his people. Mark stresses the authority of Jesus, his great sacrifice, and what it means to be his disciple. This book was given to make and encourage disciples of Jesus, and this sermon series seeks to do the same by proclaiming Mark's message for today's generation.

Tim Stephens

Tim Stephens is the senior pastor of Fairview Baptist Church. Tim grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario and has graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from Queen’s University, a Masters of Divinity degree from Detroit Baptist Theological Seminary, and is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry in Expository Preaching at the Master’s Seminary. He is happily married to Raquel and they have eight children.
