Blood on the Hands of Authority

Pontius Pilate teaches us much about the position of authority under the supremacy of God. Those in government leadership are inescapably held to God's moral standard. And when authorities are pushed to command or enforce things wholly unjust, exterior pressure is no excuse to perpetrate evil, by commission or omission. Pilate's, and today's leaders' attempts to escape responsibility for their actions is in vain. The blood remains. Alex Russell

Alex Russell is the associate pastor at Fairview Baptist church. Raised in Drumheller for most of his life, Alex moved to Calgary as an adult with his wife Erika, where they both came to know Christ. They joined the body at Fairview in 2018. There, Alex began to train in ministry alongside Pastor Tim and pursue seminary studies at Reformed Baptist Seminary. He became an associate pastor in the winter of 2021. He and his wife Erika are blessed with three children.
